Audrey Leduc on driving the transition to regen agriculture

Audrey Leduc
Director of Planet-Friendly Practices
McCain Foods

McCain Foods has committed to implementing regenerative agriculture to source all of its potatoes by 2030. This is now Audrey Leduc’s remit and she tells us its first step was to create a definition for regenerative ag.

By collaborating with NGOs, government officials and their farmer partners, McCain Foods defined regenerative agriculture as an ecosystem-based approach. She freely admits the investment costs of this transition keep her up at night, but they are making significant progress. They’ve taken tremendous steps forward with partnership programs that bring direct support to farmers and their own Farm of the Future where they test initiatives for efficiency and scalability, and then share their findings with full transparency.

Driving sustainability programs is a challenging, complicated undertaking, but McCain Foods is deeply committed. In fact, over 90% of its employees credit this important commitment with building employee loyalty and engagement.
