Not Just a Beer Can

Combining beer, wrestling and Snapchat.

Basic lagers can be boring, but not MobCraft Brewery’s Mondo Lucha. We gave this basic beer its unique name and then our design team created six cans, each featuring a different Lucha libre wrestler. In addition to the attention-grabbing looks, we integrated an on-can QR code which linked to a Snapchat lens that enabled fans to literally “wear” their favorite wrestler’s signature mask.

We launched the brand during Milwaukee’s Weird Fest block party. It proved so popular, our client MobCraft Brewing authorized an unheard-of second run.

While the launch event happened last year, our Snapchat stats continue to climb, even though the lens is only available through a Snapchat search or scanning the can itself (which is entirely sold out, again). Without any paid social, our lenses have earned over 29,000 views. Fun fact: The Russian Beast dominates with over 23,000 of those views. Learn more about the campaign.
