MILWAUKEE — One of downtown Milwaukee’s oldest residents, The Pfister Hotel, is partnering with one of the newest, Bader Rutter, to launch a guest writer program for the tenth year of the respected Pfister Narrator program.
The Pfister Hotel, owned and managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, hosts the Pfister Narrator program to bring to the surface the stories each guest carries with them as they move in and out of the hotel. The hotel’s current narrator, Nicole Mattke, has welcomed guest narrators to join her in capturing stories on the Pfister blog.
Bader Rutter will be lending their writers to infuse the Pfister Narrator program with the Milwaukee advertising agency’s creative talent. The agency will offer writers to contribute to the program for eight weeks, showcasing the agency’s writers and inspiring new audiences to enjoy the blog.
“Milwaukee is really center stage right now,” says Cassy Scrima, area director of marketing at Marcus Hotels & Resorts. “As if the 10th year isn’t enough to celebrate, we have more and more visitors to our city, and tourism is thriving. We know the stories in the hotel reflect who we are, and we’re eager to expose the narrator space to new audiences and new voices.”
Creative workers in Milwaukee have a vested interest in watching the city grow and helping give voice to Milwaukee. The partnership gives Milwaukee’s creative class a forum for leveraging their talents and showcasing their city.
“You may only see advertising writers’ work sentence by sentence, but the reality is they have some of the most creative voices out there. We’re thrilled about the opportunity to flex our creative muscles through such a unique outlet,” says Mike Fredrick, executive creative director at Bader Rutter.
“We’re really excited to see how these new voices lend to the stories the Pfister brings our city. We can’t wait to see what kind of readership we can generate by telling stories of Milwaukee through a new creative lens,” Scrima says.
The first partnership will run from Sept. 8 to Oct. 28. Follow the Pfister blog to see the work of the creative teams as they offer their guest writing.

About The Pfister Hotel
The Pfister Hotel has been the premier hotel in downtown Milwaukee for more than 120 years. Built in 1893 by businessman Guido Pfister, it was the most lavish hotel of its time. The hotel’s storied elegance had faded following World War II, until 1962, when Ben Marcus, founder of The Marcus Corporation, purchased this grand hotel out of bankruptcy. The Marcus family renovated and restored the hotel to its original glory, adding convention facilities, a parking garage and 23-story guest tower. The Pfister Hotel remains home to the largest collection of Victorian art of any hotel in the world and offers an interactive augmented reality tour of pieces in this impressive collection.
