Bader Rutter Adds Ferris to Marketing Team

MILWAUKEE — Bader Rutter announces the hiring of Julie Ferris as the content marketing leader on the agency’s marketing team. Ferris leads the agency’s thought leadership content marketing and new business pitch development, which are critical pillars to Bader Rutter’s growth.

Ferris joins Bader Rutter from Cramer-Krasselt, a leading independent consumer marketing agency, where she helped develop and drive award-winning public relations programs. Her work centered on social media strategies, traditional media campaigns and clients such as the Paper and Packaging Board, Bombardier Recreational Products and Generac.

At Bader Rutter, Ferris serves as its chief storyteller to prospective clients, creating the agency’s point of view on relevant B2B marketing topics through content marketing and speaking engagements, promoting Bader Rutter’s thought leadership and news through earned media and celebrating the transformative work Bader Rutter develops to drive its clients’ businesses.

Ferris’ unique experience includes past roles as an assistant professor of communications at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and public relations supervisor for the City of Milwaukee Common Council where she handled press and publicity for the elected city legislators. At the City of Milwaukee, she honed her storytelling skills as on-air talent and writer for the monthly television program Insight Milwaukee, featuring Milwaukee’s unique services and offerings.

Ferris, who holds a Ph.D. in mass communication and journalism from the University of Iowa, was also the first writer-in-residence for the historic Pfister Hotel.  

“Marketers and public relations practitioners gravitate to content marketing as a message delivery tactic, but often forget that content must be compelling,” Ferris says. “Stories are the best vehicles for communication. In every brand, every project, every workplace, there are so many ways to connect the dots and make the story salient and compelling for different audiences.
